Grades for Blades
George’s Pond/Shreveport Mudbugs Hockey team partners with all schools in the Shreveport/Bossier area that are willing to participate. It is a reward program for students who have excelled in reading programs, bumped up their grades or has made the Honor Roll. In turn these students will receive a certificate that they can exchange for a FREE Mudbugs game ticket. You must present the certificate at the box office to receive your ticket.

Field Trips
Looking for a fun field for your students? Bring them out to George’s Pond for ice skating! We also offer a fun little ‘class’ on how ice is made or a Hockey How To. If available, the Mudbugs Hockey Team can make an appearance to skate with the kids.

Non-game day staff:
- Public Skate: On weekends we do not have hockey games in the building most Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to 9pm we hold public skates. You would be selling, handing out and putting away skates. If you know how to skate well we will also ask you to skate guard on the ice to make sure everyone has skates on ONLY the rubber and the ice.
- Birthday Parties: On weekends that we have games our afternoons are filled with birthday parties and Corporate Partner parties. You would help hand out skates and help the party with all of their needs.
- Outside Events: Outside events range from Circus’, concerts, Motorcycle events, Monster Trucks and many, many more. These happen when we do not have ice in the building (during the fair and the summer)
- Maintenance/janitorial needs: Needed before, during and after all events in the building.
Hockey Game Day Staff:
- concessions:(three concessions open at all games) deals with selling concessions, restocking concessions and running food from our kitchen.
- merchandise sales: Located in the Swamp Shack, you will sell the official Mudbugs merchandise and restock when needed.
- box office (ticket sales): deals with walk up customers who purchase tickets at the door for games as well as pre-purchased ticket pickup.
- public skate: will sell, pass out, and put up all skates before and after our games. (after game skates only apply to Saturday games)
- ushers: As people arrive for the games you will be placed in each section to help those find their seats. While the puck is in play you will make sure people are not walking along the concourse so that if a stray puck leaves the ice no one gets hurt. Certain ushers will have other duties to make sure people who leave the building to our smoking areas that they have a game ticket when they walk back through the doors. Others will make sure guests will stay out and away from the players and their locker rooms.
- ice girls/rink rats: Ice Girls have several duties on and off the ice. They help with in-game promotions and games on the ice. As well as clearing away the loose ice when needed. (need to be strong skaters that can stop easily). Off ice they will help sell raffle tickets and pass out giveaways and help game operations find participants for off-ice games. Rink Rats (often youth hockey) help the ice girls with on ice promotions- picking up mudbugs and chuck-a-pucks and helping with on ice games.
- game operations: Will help secure participants for all on and off ice games during the intermissions. As well as help set up games on and off the ice.
- camera crew: Will be behind a camera for the entire game, following the puck for both Hockey TV (our live stream) and the videoboard in the room.
- videobooth crew:
- lights: need to know how to run a lightboard and how to program it
- sound: need to know how to run a soundboard as well as sound director (our game sound program)
- video director (switcher): a basic understanding of the program VMix- you would be switching between cameras for the videoboard and making sure the cameras stay on the puck. As well as making sure graphics that need to be shown for Corporate Partners are shown when their PA’s are read.
- Graphics/replay: Making sure the next graphics needed are cued up for your video director. As well as cutting and clipping all replays that include goals, saves and big hits of the game.
